Burnout
A solitary matchstick, burnt down to its final remnants, emerges from an almost completely dark background.
Burnout explores the feeling of exhaustion that comes from giving everything you have until there is almost nothing left. The simplicity of the subject is intentional—the burnt match becomes a quiet symbol of energy, pressure, and the point at which something can no longer keep burning.
Set against the darkness, the charred remains of the match create a stark contrast, inviting the viewer to consider what it means to be consumed by something, and what remains afterwards.
